Kenneth John Di Massimo

Kenneth J. Di Massimo, 71, of Union passed away on May 22, 2018. A funeral service will be held at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave. in Union on Saturday, May 26th at 10:30am.  Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park.  Friends are invited to visit on Friday from 4 to 8pm.

Born in Newark, the son of Frederick and Helen ( Culley ) Di Massimo Ken was raised in Belleville where he graduated from High School in 1965.  He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict.  Ken worked for the U.S. Postal Service in both Summit and Whippany for 40 years until his retirement in 2011.  He also worked part time at Kohl’s in Watchung prior to his retirement.  Ken enjoyed reading and playing guitar.  He loved listening to Elvis and watching western movies.  But most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Ken was the beloved husband of the late Mary Di Massimo. He was the loving father of Kenneth Di Massimo, Jr. and Tracy Di Massimo.  He is also survived by his cherished grandson Manny, his dear sisters, Susan Nardiello and her husband Louis and Patricia Jablonski and her husband Frank, nieces and nephews, Frank, Lisa, Laura, Michelle, and Sharon and great niece and nephew, Chiara and Parker, as well as many loving relatives.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s memory may be made to either the VA Health Care System of East Orange, 385 Tremont Ave., East Orange, NJ 07018 or Joan Dancy and PALS People with ALS Foundation, Riverview  Medical Center, One Riverview Plaza, P.O.Box 8157 Red Bank, NJ 07701
