Kathleen Louise Clemens, age 99 died at her home on June 22, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Newark, New Jersey to George and Julia Strunck. They moved to Cedar Knolls when Kathleen was 6 where she lived her whole life. Together with her husband, Charles Arthur Sr., (pre-deceased) they raised 9 children: Art and Judy both pre-deceased, Gene, Don, Kitty, Tom, Jack, Marie and Peg. She had 17 grandchildren (one of whom is deceased) and 20 great grandchildren.
She is survived by one brother, Arthur Strunck and several nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased are her brothers George and Leonard and her sister, Mary Finch.
Kathleen was an active life-long member of Notre Dame Church since it was built. Her father helped to build the church. She was in the first “First Holy Communion Class.” She was a member of the Rosary Society. For a short time was Post Mistress in Cedar Knolls, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Cedar Knolls Fire Dept., Girl Scout Leader and most recently a member of the Hanover Twp. Seniors.
Kathleen loved spending time at her family beach house. She retired from Morristown Memorial Hospital in 1987 where she was a manager.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Road, Whippany, NJ 07981. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel, 75 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927. An interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church or Cedar Knolls Fire Department, 82 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls, 07927.
