~~Justus “Bud” Spinden, 91, of Hillside passed away on January 3, 2017. A Funeral Service will be held at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave in Union on Friday, January 6th at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park. Born in Newark, the son of Ernest and Ruth Spinden, Bud was raised in Irvington where he graduated from high school in 1944. He resided in Hillside since 1956. Bud served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as a supervisor for many years at Otto B. May in Newark. Bud will be fondly remembered for his love and devotion to his wife, family and friends.

Bud was the beloved husband of 56 years to the late Cecilia. He was the dear uncle of Carol Corea and her husband Tom and Scott Peterson and his wife Denise. He is also survived by his devoted cousins Debra Schoonover and her husband Marvin and Cheryl Gallagher and her husband Charles as well as many loving relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his brother Harold Spinden and his sister Ruth Peterson. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bud’s memory may be made to either The Alzheimers Association, Greater NJ Chapter, 3 Eves Dr, suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
