Joseph Rivera, of Cedar Knolls, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015. He was 69 years old.
Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Joseph moved to New York City as a child and grew up in the Bronx. He graduated from Aviation High School in Long Island City, Queens. After graduation, Joseph pursued a career in Information Technology, earning various certificates in Telecom Wiring and Software Installation. This experience gave Joe the opportunity to work for several companies including Macy’s before his retirement in 2008.
Joe enjoyed a number of hobbies including photography, video games, and bicycle riding. He will be remembered as a loving husband, wonderful caregiver, devoted friend, and for his unique sense of humor.
Joe leaves behind his beloved wife, Margie Benitez-Rivera, with whom he shared a loving, nine-year marriage. He is also survived by his sister Maria, his brother Santino, and his sons, Joseph N., Michael, and Christopher.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation for Joe on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 2-4 PM at the Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Road, Whippany, NJ.
