Joseph Lucking passed away on Saturday February 16, 2019.
Joseph lived in Whippany NJ for many years. He graduated from St. Benedict’s Prep, Newark NJ and Villanova University where he obtained his degree in Chemical Engineering. He held various marketing positions with Chemical producers and was active in the NJ Chemist Club and Sales Association of the Chemical Industry. At Our Lady of Mercy church in Whippany he was a parish council president, religious education teacher and served in many fund raising programs. He served as a volunteer in Morris County, NJ helping those in need with income tax assistance and with Family Services assisting those seeking financial help. Joseph was a Veteran serving in the US Army as a Specialist in the Nike Missile Brigade located in San Pedro Ca. He is survived by his beloved wife Helen, sons Thomas and John, daughter-in-law Abbey and grandsons Andrew and David.
A Funeral Mass will be said at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Whippany at 10:30am on Thursday February 21st. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to be sent to St. John’s Soup Kitchen, Newark, NJ. https://www.njsk.org
