Joseph K. Keena

Joseph K. Keena, 89, of Whippany, passed away on Saturday October 4, 2014. Born in Dublin, Ireland, Joseph came to the United States when he was 2 years old. He has lived in Whiippany for most of his life.

Joseph owned and operated Keena Dental Lab out of Whippany home for many years, retiring 27 years ago. A Veteran of the US Navy, Joseph served during WWII. He was the recipient of distinguished expert awards for marksmanship from the gun club in Secaucus. He was also a member of the Police Auxiliary in Whippany. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Joseph was a parishioner at Our Lady of Mercy in Whippany, and more recently St. Ann’s in Parsippany.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 10am at St. Ann;’s Church, 781 Smith Rd., Parsippany. Interment will follow at St. Vincent Martyr Cemetery, Madison. There will be a visitation on Tuesday from 7-9pm and on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Bradley Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd., Whippany. Joseph is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary A. (nee: Fischer); daughters Kathleen Kelly, MaryJo Scheck and Maureen Allen; grandchildren Eleanor Mulford, May Mary Milnes, Meghan Allen, and Jonathan Allen; and great grandchildren Nora, Ronin and Logan Mulford. Joseph is also survived by his brother John Keena.
