John P. Lissy, Jr.

John P. Lissy, Jr., a life-long Chatham resident, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 22, 2019.  He was 76.

Born in Newark, John graduated from Chatham High School in 1961 and served in the US Army in the mid ‘60’s.  After his honorable discharge, he joined the family construction firm, John Lissy Construction, located in Chatham, and worked there for many years until his retirement.  A highly-skilled mason, John was a master-craftsman and was a perfectionist with his projects   His meticulous work can be seen in many high-end homes in our area.

John enjoyed his vegetable gardening and in keeping with family tradition, was an avid Jets and Yankees fan.  He also played the accordion.

John was pre-deceased by his parents, John and Anna Lissy and his brothers, Charles and Martin Lissy.  He was the cherished brother of Janet Lissy, Pauline Chrenko, and Daniel Lissy and his wife Cindy. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews and 2 great-nephews.
