John Kirby Ziegler, “Zig”, 79, of Bay Head, NJ and Vero Beach, FL, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, PA, and raised in Plainfield, NJ, after marrying his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Tubach, they raised their family in Chatham, while maintaining a summer residence in Bay Head. For the last 50 years, the Ziegler’s have divided their time between Bay Head and Vero Beach, Florida. John graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, PA, before earning his MBA from New York University Stern School of Business. He began his career with Coopers & Lybrand, and then Willcox & Gibbs, Inc, where he began as a Controller and ultimately rose to the role of Chairman of the Board and CEO. Over the years, John has held positions on various boards, such as WorldTex,Inc., W&G and SAGE Eldercare. He has been a member of Canoe Brook Country Club, Manasquan River Golf Club, Bay Head Yacht Club, Quail Valley Club and John’s Island Club and until recently Baltusrol Golf Club and The Union League Club of New York. What John cherished the most was spending time with his family and friends especially with his grandchildren, whose games and events he wouldn’t miss. John is survived by his wife Elizabeth; children Karen Kelly from Atlanta, her husband Mike and 2 children(Megan and Shannon), Susan Saltiel from Chicago and Memphis, her husband Al and 3 children(Maggie, Chris and Elizabeth), John Kirby Ziegler, Jr. from Philadelphia, his wife Stephany and 6 children(John Kirby, III, Shaun, Matthew, Paul, Michael and Mark), and Wendy Urban from Annapolis, her husband Dr. W. Christopher and 4 children(Topher, Ashley, Peter and Suzy); and sisters Kathryn Tatlow and Lenore Kertesz. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Corpus Christi Church, 234 Southern Boulevard, Chatham TWP, NJ. There will be a visitation on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ.
