~~John Joseph Denman, Jr. “Jack”, 61 of Summit passed away at Overlook Hospital on November 14th. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Ave, Summit on Thursday, November 20th at 10:45am. Interment will follow at St. Teresa Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Brough and Dangler Funeral Home, 309 Springfield Ave, Summit on Tuesday from 6 to 9pm and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.
A lifelong resident of Summit, Jack graduated from Seton Hall Prep in So. Orange, and Georgetown University with degree in Accounting. A CPA, Jack began his career with Haskins and Sells which later became Deloitte and worked mainly in the Newark and Morristown offices. For the past 20 years he has been with Aegis Insurance Group in East Rutherford as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Jack was a member of the Canoe Brook Country Club where he had served on the Board of Trustees. He was also a member of The American Institute of CPA’s, a 40 plus year volunteer at Camp Fatima of New Jersey and a member of the Durkan Pub Hall of Fame in Donegal, Ireland. Jack enjoyed golf and reading. Jack will be fondly remembered for his love and devotion to his family, his sense of humor and how he would anonymously help those in need.
Jack was the devoted son of Jack and Loretta. He was the beloved oldest brother of Robert (Jaclyn), Richard (Marianne), Kevin (Judy), Brian (Joan), Loretta Wolansky (Michael), Nancy Schaedel (Gene), Jamie, and Paul. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack’s memory may be made to Camp Fatima of NJ, P.O. Box 654, Harrison, NJ 07029.
