John J. Birofka, 58, of Madison, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 22, 1957 in Summit, NJ to the late John and Shirley Birofka.
John graduated from Chatham High School, Morris County College and attended Fairleigh Dickinson University.
John started his insurance career in 1978. He was an Executive Vice President of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co, Whippany, NJ and prior to that of Bollinger, Inc., Short Hills, NJ. For many years he was a Principal of Creative Agency Group in Holmdel, NJ where he served as Excutive Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Operations.
John is survived by his wife Genevieve, his son John “Jack” and his daughter Anne Elyse. He is also survived by his sister, Judith Brown and her husband Dr. D. Peter Brown, his brother, James Birofka, sisters-in-law, Dianne and husband Thomas Durkin, III and Donna and husband William Torppey, III. He was uncle to Matthew Brown and wife Nikki, Caroline Brown, Thomas Durkin, IV and fiance Melissa DiPasquale, Genevieve Durkin, William Torppey, III., Nora Torppey and great uncle to Matthew Lane Brown. John is also survived by his dedicated and devoted “work family” of Holmdel, NJ
A visitation will be Monday, February 29, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison, NJ 07940. An interment will follow in St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison, NJ. In John’s memory, donations can be directed to Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 29 Prospect St, Madison, NJ 07940.
