John Iwansik, 92, of Whippany, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Morris Hills Center, Morristown, NJ.
John was born on August 23, 1923 in Whippany, NJ. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Anna (nee Bobick) Iwansik.
John was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church and loved God and his country. He was a former member of the Hanover Seniors and loved rooting for the New York Yankees. He enjoyed playing bingo and going to casino’s. He was a family man and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sister, Ann Matlaga, nephew, Stephen Matlaga and wife Donna, nieces; Carol Ambrose and husband Jim and Alice Skibic. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Rd in Whippany on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Whippany, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Whippany, NJ.
