Joan L. McCormack (nee Kunzman) died at Morristown Memorial Hospital on May 16, 2012. She was 79.
Born in Whippany, Mrs. McCormack was a life-long resident. She attended Kean College and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science and Education. Mrs. McCormack was a teacher librarian in the Hopatcong School District for close to 30 years. She was currently overseeing all of the libraries in the school district.
Mrs. McCormack treasured spending time at her home in Pt. Pleasant and at the beach. She loved spending time outdoors with her family, whether it be apple picking, hayrides, or just mowing the lawn. She also enjoyed going out to eat and a glass of merlot. She was always trying new things and seeking new experiences.
She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Joseph McCormack, and beloved mother of the late Timothy McCormack. She is survived by her beloved children, Joanie McCormack of Whippany and Michael J. McCormack, Jr. and his wife Romana of Cedar Knolls. Her cherished grandchildren Tim, John Patrick and Chrissy McCormack and her fiancé Kevin Farley. She was the devoted sister of Father Richard Kunzman of Florida and the late Ronald Kunzman. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
