Joan J. Caporaso, 89 of Summit, New Jersey passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020 at Overlook Hospital.

Joan was born on January 25, 1931 in Summit, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick and Agnes (nee Carey) Caruso. She was a graduate of St. Teresa’s Grammar School and Summit High School.

She worked for Chubb Insurance, New York City, NY and later worked privately in eldercare as a caregiver before retiring.

Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mario J. Caporaso in 2015 and sisters Patricia Stanek of Summit, NJ and Lois Sonnett and Kodak, TN. She was the loving mother of daughters; Wendy LoMauro of Gillette, NJ and Cindy Caporaso of Madison, NJ and the cherished Grandmother of Michael LoMauro of Hoboken, NJ and Alex LoMauro of NYC. In addition, she is survived by her sisters Katherine Rutzler of Morristown, NJ, Virginia Foster of Port Orange, FL and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A private visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Wm. A. Bradley & son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. A graveside service will follow at St. Teresa’s Cemetery, Summit, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joan’s name to the Overlook Foundation, 46-48 Beavoir Ave., Summit, NJ 07901. Due to the recent COVID-19 quarantine, memorial arrangements will be made at a later date.
