It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Joan E. Tanzillo, 88, who died on Wednesday, October 14th, 2020, in Stratford, CT.
Joan was born on January 17, 1932 in Orange, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late William and Josephine Passero.
Joan lived in New Jersey most of her life, settling in Connecticut in her later years to be close to her only daughter, Sharon. She enjoyed her new home, spending time doing what she loved: creating beauty as a gardener, talking on the phone and spending time with her many friends and family, and engaging in the Oronoque Village Community.
One of Joan’s passions was her career as a Graphic Artist and Art Director at Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceuticals, later known as Novartis. She enjoyed 18 years at Novartis using her skills as an artist and designer.
Joan was the loving mother to her daughter, Sharon Jacobson, and her son-in-law Michael. She adored their three Cocker Spaniels, Dora, Bebe and Maxx like they were her own.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 20th at 12:30 pm at The Gates of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
