Jeanne A. Widmann, 87, formerly of Chatham Township passed away on January 25, 2017, 2 days before her 88th birthday. A funeral service will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 300 Shunpike Rd in Chatham on Saturday, January 28th at 10am. Interment will follow at Fair Mount Cemetery in Chatham. Born in Newark, the daughter of Fred and Clara (Bresee) Blickle, Jeanne was raised in Hillside and graduated from high school there in 1947. She had also lived in Chatham Township for 43 years before moving to Livingston in 2013. A homemaker, Jeanne was a longtime member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Lutheran Church Women. She was also a member of the Chatham Seniors, the Calvary Lutheran Bowling League and the Senior Bowling League at Madison Plaza Lanes. Jeanne enjoyed embroidering, crocheting and travelling throughout the United States with her family. She also enjoyed cruises to Bermuda.
Jeanne was the beloved wife of 66 years to Fred. She was the loving mother of Wayne Widmann and his wife Cheryl, Tom Widmann, Nancy Duffy, Roy Widmann, Carolyn Greendonner, and Heidi Smith and her husband Chris. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Bonney Fiorito and her husband Anthony, Katie Widmann, Joshua Smith, Heather “Nikki” Greendonner and Abby Smith and great granddaughter Katelyn Fiorito. She is predeceased by her sister Dorothy Bell. Donations in Jeanne’s memory may be made to your favorite charity.
