Jean H. LeCarl (nee Hatton), 88, longtime resident of Union, passed away on November 15, 2019.
A graduate of Newark Teachers College, Jean dedicated most of her life to working with children. Jean was a teacher for decades, first as “Miss Hatton” and then as “Mrs. LeCarl”, teaching the children of Connecticut Farms School and Connecticut Farms Nursery School in Union, and Christ Church Nursery School in Short Hills. After her teaching career, she was known as “Miss Jean” for 20 years as a child care provider until her retirement in 2011.
Jean was also a Cub Scouts Den Mother and Assistant Girl Scout Leader.
Jean is the loving and dedicated wife of 62 years to John F. “Jack” LeCarl and the beloved mother of Lori, Glenn, Alan and Ronald.
There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 11am at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Avenue in Union. Interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth. A visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the funeral home.
