Janet Anne Lee, 73, of Springfield passed away at home on November 1st. Born and raised in Port of Spain, Trinidad, Janet came to the United States in the 1980’s where she first settled in Irvington. She moved to Springfield 8 years ago. Janet had worked for many years as a medical assistant for Sall Meyers Medical in Irvington before retiring in 1999. She enjoyed cooking, especially baking. As the eldest of 6, Janet will be fondly remembered for the care and concern she had towards her younger siblings as well as the devotion to her family later on.
Janet was the beloved wife of the late Anthony. She was the loving mother of Greg Defreitas-Lee and his wife Karen, and Rachael Lee. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Zachary, Dylan and Kevin, her dearest siblings, Margaret Defreitas, Helen Romeo, Ronald Defreitas,Gemma Julien, Michael Defreitas, and Deborah Foderingham as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
