James W. Shaw, 92, of Chatham, New Jersey passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Morris Hills Center, Morristown, NJ.
James was born on June 8, 1922 in Glasgow, Scotland and grew up in Sea Cliff, Long Island. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Elizabeth (nee Cook) Shaw.
James served in the Coast Guard during World War II as an Electrician’s Mate. He worked as a manager for Lucent Technologies, Manhattan, NY.
James and his wife, Margaret, moved to Chatham in 1953. He loved sports, especially the New York Yankees. He enjoyed coaching youth baseball teams in Chatham. He liked traveling to Maine with his wife and spending time at the Jersey Shore.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret E. Shaw. He is survived by his son, Jack Shaw, daughter in law Monica, step grandchildren Kelly Ann Boyer and Timothy O’Brien, and five great grandchildren.
A visitation will be Friday, January 30, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928. A funeral service will follow at noon in the funeral home. An interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery, Chatham, NJ.
