He moved several times across the New York metropolitan area, as well as to Los Angeles and Hong Kong as he pursued his career. Jim earned his Bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT and his MBA from NYU. At Wesleyan, he was an active member of Chi Psi as the Sergeant at Arms and will be greatly missed by his fraternity brothers. Jim was the head of U.S. institutional sales in the asset management division of BNP Paribas in New York City. Previously he was a senior investment consultant at Mercer. Jim was active with his children, often doing many things he loved from his childhood, Boy Scouts, tennis and biking. He enjoyed reading (especially history and the Civil War) as well as researching his family’s genealogy and spending time on his family’s farm.
Jim was the beloved husband of 19 years to Noreen. He was the loving father of Connor, Kate and William. He is also survived by his parents, Jack and Joan Johnston, and his brothers, Joe Johnston and John Johnston (Angela).
