James Hay, Loving Father and Grandfather
Hay, James E., 63, on Friday, December 28th at Overlook Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 3rd at 9:30 am at Corpus Christi Church, 234 Southern Blvd., Chatham. Interment to follow at Fair Mount Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday, January 2nd from 4-9 pm.
Born in Rahway, NJ, Jim was the youngest of three children. He attended Rutgers University earning his BA. He served his community as a police officer in Westfield, earning a Medal of Honor and of Valor. He then attended Rutgers Camden Law School where he graduated with his JD. He was a partner at the law firm of DiFrancesco Bateman for over 20 years, where he was the head of the real estate division. He loved spending time with his family, but above all, he loved being with his grandchildren and enjoying his Corvette.
Surviving are his son Ryan Hay and his wife Stacie, and his daughter Bridget Hay; his adoring grandchildren Ryder, Audrey & Amelia; his sisters Susanne Sauer and her husband Alfred and Patricia Miller and her husband James; and many other loving relatives, friends, and colleagues.
