Born in Newark, the son of Jacob and Meta Bruno, Jack graduated from Irvington High School in 1941. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was trained as a cable splicer. Jack worked at New Jersey Bell in Newark for 37 years until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Knights of Columbus Union Council 4504 for over 40 years.
Jack was the beloved husband of the late Eileen (Coombs) Bruno. He was the loving father of Paul Bruno and Eric Bruno and his wife Susan. He is also survived by his cherished granddaughter Samantha Bruno and her brother Michael Gacsi, dear brother Carl Bruno and his wife Catalda “Kay”, and many devoted nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Emil Knab and sister Rose Marie Rose.
Jack will be remembered for his hard work in both his professional life and to the organizations he served, and for his unfailing sense of humor.
