Irene Maucione Zalewski, 67, of Virginia Beach, formerly of Maplewood, NJ, passed away on Sunday August 5, 2012.
Born and raised in Newark, Irene attended of West Side High School. She lived in Maplewood before settling in Virginia Beach 32 years ago.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 9:30am at St Michael’s Church, 40 Alden Street in Cranford. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. There will be a visitation on Wednesday from 6-9pm and on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Bradley Smith & Smith Funeral Home 415 Morris Ave., Springfield. Predeceased by her parents Angelo and Cecelia (Kwiatkowski) Maucione, and brothers Joseph and Angelo Maucione, Jr., Irene is survived by her husband of 47 years, Al Zalewski; daughters Diane Grimes and Deborah Zalewski; grandchildren Alan Zalewski and Kevin Grimes; and brothers Michael and Charles Maucione
