Helen ‘Gig’ Moore, 85, of Chatham, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 19th with her family by her side. A Celebrant Service will be held on Monday, July 23rd at 11 am at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St, Chatham. Interment to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 3-8 pm and on Monday from 9-11 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Center Pointe II, Suite 103, 1160 Rt. 22 East, Bridgewater, NJ 08886.


Born in East Orange, NJ, Helen was one of four children. She attended Clifford Scott High School and met and married George William Moore then raised a family of 9 children in Orange, NJ. She was a retail associate for 16 years at Korvettes, West Orange. Helen lived in Hillside for many years, relocating to Chatham in 1996. She enjoyed gardening, John Wayne, Andy Williams, and the Yankees, but above all, she loved spending time with her children and many grandchildren and always kept in touch with her lifelong friend, the late Doris Collver.


Predeceased by her husband George, she is survived by her children Cheryl Romeo (the late Andrew), Susan Schooley, Linda Snell (Alan),Gary (Kimberli), Diane Slater (George), Cynthia Miller (James), Daniel (Annie), David (Noreen), & Ruth Lembo (Raymond); her 23 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, caregiver & dear friend Irina Kroulkova, sister Ruth Rackett and many other loving relatives and friends.
