Helen Erla Lloyd, 80, of Union, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains, NJ.
Helen was born on July 9, 1935 in Jersey City, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Mr. John & Theresa Gushue Erla.
Helen was a member of the Democratic Club and a former female leader of district 10 of Union, NJ. She enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, crochet and following political events.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, James R. Lloyd. She was the cherished mother of four sons James, Gregory, Brian, Kevin and their spouses; Cheryl, Kristina and Brenda. She is the grandmother of Ashlie, Brittnie, Dylan, Colin, Ryan, Brendan and great grandmother to Lorelei. Helen is also survived by her sister Marie E. Felber and brothers John J. Erla and Walter M. Erla.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm at the Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Avenue, Union, NJ 07083. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at10:15 am at St. Michael’s Church, 1212 Kelly St., Union. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
