~~Hector H. Lopez, 69, of Union passed away on March 29, 2017. Visiting hours at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home. 1100 Pine Ave in Union will be held on Friday, March 31st from 6 to 9pm. There will be a prayer service at 8:30pm during the visitation. Interment is private. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Catherine’s Church, 1000 N. Born and raised in Montevideo, Uruguay, the son of Antonio and Catalina (Gonzalez) Lopez, Hector came to the United States in 1982. First settling in Miami, he also lived in West Orange before moving to Union eleven years ago. A plumber by trade, Hector worked for the West Orange Bd. of Ed. for 25 years until his retirement in 2012. He enjoyed cooking and grilling and loved to walk and ride his bike. Hector will be fondly remembered for his love and devotion to his family and how he enjoyed so much his first grandchild, Sara.
Hector was the beloved husband of 19 years to Marlene. He was the loving father of Helena Lopez, Claudia Cerca and her husband Felipe and Kimberly Lopez. He is also survived by his cherished granddaughter, Sara. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hector’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville 08691
