Gregg Hansbury, of Queens, NY, passed away at his home on April 19, 2020. He was 43.
Born in Red Bank, Gregg grew up in Chatham and graduated from Chatham High School in 1995. He went on to attend Columbia University, where he graduated in 1999. He continued his education at the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, earning his MBA in International Marketing in 2005.
Gregg worked in various marketing positions before joining Citibank 12 years ago. His work brought him all over the world, including assignments in Munich with the Laurel division of the fashion house Escada as well as one in Singapore with Citibank. Gregg rose through the ranks at Citibank and he currently held the position of Senior Vice President of Digital Operations.
Gregg loved music, singing, sailing and travel. He had run the Berlin and New York City Marathons. He also was an excellent pie baker, ice cream maker and all-around epicure. He was kind, generous, loyal and witty. Possessing a brilliant mind, Gregg was highly regarded as a friend among his work colleagues.
Gregg was pre-deceased by his father, Thomas M. Hansbury. He is survived by his mother, Mary Beth Hansbury and his brother, Brian Hansbury. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews, as well as dear friends, especially his devoted faithful canine companion, Otto.
