Gloria V. Marcketta, 87, of Millburn, passed away on November 8, 2019. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave. in Short Hills on Wednesday, November 13 at 10am. Interment will follow at the Church cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Church on Tuesday from 4 to 8pm.
Born in Newark, the daughter of Michael and Carmela (Trotta) Pannullo, Gloria was raised in Summit where she graduated from St. Teresa High School. After marrying the love of her life, Michael Marcketta, in 1957, the couple moved to Millburn. She had a 40 year career working for Millburn Township culminating as secretary for the Chief of Police. A longtime faithful parishioner at St. Rose, she was a Eucharistic Minister, Lecter, and member of the Life Lighters. Gloria loved to cook and enjoyed crocheting. She had a kind heart and a kind soul and all who knew her were blessed by her loving smile and friendly ways.
Gloria was the beloved wife of the late Michael J. Marcketta. She was the loving mother of Michele Fiorellino, Marianne Arimenta-Dente (Anthony), and Michael Marcketta (Maureen). Nanny will be missed by her adoring grandchildren, Nicole (Tim), Danielle (Christopher), Anthony (Pamela), Michael, Alyssa, Valerie, Andrea and twins, Emma and Olivia. She is also survived by her dear sister, Phyllis Fischer. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gloria’s memory may be made to St. Rose of Lima Church Parish for the Religious Formation of Children, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills, NJ 07078.
