Gloria A. Boorujy, 86, a lifelong resident of Summit, NJ passed peacefully on January 6, 2020. A Prayer Service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 10 am at Bradley Brough & Dangler Funeral Home, 299 Morris Ave. Summit, NJ. Interment Fair Mount Cemetery. Visiting hours, Friday, 4 pm to 8 pm. Gloria was born, raised and resided in Summit her whole life. She received her bachelor’s degree in Education from Trenton State Teachers College and later earned her master’s degree in Teaching from Newark State College, which is now Kean University. Gloria had been a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Summit. She was a very dedicated reading teacher and taught many grades from kindergarten to 4th grade. Being a devoted daughter, she interrupted her career to retire early so she could be with her aging father. Her beloved parents were, Mary (nee Kazanchy), and George L. Boorujy. Gloria enjoyed taking care of flowers in her home (had a green thumb), and also walking along park trails. She also enjoyed listening to country music and old time Christian hymns. Gloria is survived by her two brothers, George J. and his wife Ruth, Richard L. and his wife Sarahlynn, her nieces, Beverly Dunphy (Brendan), Cynthia Simon (David), and Susan Larson (Nathaniel), a nephew George B. Boorujy. Also survived by a grandniece, Juliet and three grandnephews, Benjamin, Russell and Roland.
