Loving Mother, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother

Gerda E. Czyborra, (nee Munz), 82, of Morris Township, NJ, passed peacefully on May 6, 2018. Born in Pforzheim, Germany, Gerda came to the United States to Union, NJ in 1955 at the age of 19. She also lived in Roselle & spent many years in Cranford, before retiring to Sea Girt. Gerda spent the last 14 years in Morris Township, NJ. Gerda received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Jersey City State and her Master’s in Nursing & Education from NYU. She began her career as a teller for Summit & Elizabeth Trust Co. in Summit, she then became a nursing instructor for Elizabeth General School of Nursing for many years. Gerda and her late husband Heinz, loved to travel, boating and the beach. She was an accomplished member of the Cranford Dramatic Club, member of the Masterworks Chorus of Morristown, she always enjoyed their performance of Handel’s Messiah at Carnegie Hall, she was also a parishioner and member of the chorus with Cranford Presbyterian Church, Manasquan Presbyterian Church & Madison Presbyterian Church. Gerda is pre-deceased by her husband of 40 years, Heinz Cyzborra. She is survived by her son, Steve & Rose Czyborra, her daughter, Suzanne & Joseph Curcio, grandmother of Christopher & Jennifer Czyborra, Robert Curcio & his wife Rachel & Amanda Curcio and great-grandmother of Evelyn Czyborra. Gerda is also survived by her three sisters, Gabi, Inga & Dee-Dee Meixner. She is also pre-deceased by her partner of 10 years, Frank Shulte. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11 am at the Presbyterian Church of Madison, 19 Green Ave. Madison, NJ.
