George R. Murray, aged 92, died on April 14, 2020 from Covid-19. He was a longtime Chatham Borough resident. Funeral services are private.
George worked for CIBA-GEIGY [now NOVARTIS] from 1962 to 1992. He worked as a draftsman/operating engineer. It was a family tradition to serve in the Navy. George’s brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather served in the Navy. George’s service in the Navy was from 1945-1947. He proudly served on the USS Bordelon. George was an avid skier, and skied until he was 86 years of age.
George married his beloved wife, Betty, in 1962. Betty, a local artist, died on February 15, 2002. He is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
