George "Herb" Herbert Fraunfelker

George Herbert Fraunfelker “Herb” passed away at the Wynwood of Florham Park on December 9th.


Born in Newark and raised in East Orange where he graduated from Clifford Scott High School in 1945, Herb had also lived in Madison and Harding before moving to Florham Park in 1975. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Herb received a degree in Chemistry from Harvard University in 1950 and went on to earn a Masters and Doctorate in Education from Rutgers University. While attending Rutgers, he taught at Douglass College and later was an Assistant Professor at Kean College. He retired in 1989 after 22 years.


Herb was the beloved husband of the late Laura Lou (Bullock). He is also survived by his children, Neil Fraunfelker and Rebecca Bauer, his stepchildren, Linda Fry, Cynthia Moczulski, and Scott Snyder, his niece Andrea Huber and nephew Donald Huber, Jr as well as many other loving relatives. His sister, Jacqueline F. Huber died previously.
