Gaile Iovine-Astorino-Loving Wife, Loving Mother, Exceptional Mother

Gaile Iovine-Astorino, 78 years old of Westfield, NJ passed away onAugust 20, 2013. The wake service will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2013 from 1 to 5 pm with a Prayer Service at 5 pm at the Bradley Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave, Springfield, NJ. Gaile was born inNewark on August 9, 1935. She graduated from South Side HS in Newark, NJ. Gaile was marrried to Guy “Gerry” on July 13, 1989; they were married for 24 years. She greatly enjoyed her grandchildren and antique collection. She was also actively involved in M.A.D.D (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), The Wounded Warrior Project, and the Sgt. John Basilone Foundation. Gailes is survived by her husband Guy “Gerry” Astorino, brother Joseph Iovine, sister Donna Preziosi, sons Guy Giovanello, Don Giovanello, daughter Toni Gibson, daughter-in-law Gloria giovanello, son-in-law D’Juan “DJ” Gibson, grandchildren Nicholas Giovanello, Brianna Giovanello, Danielle Giovanello, Don Giovanello Jr, Alexa Giovanello, alexander Gonzalez, Rachel Giovanello, Gabriel Gonzalez, and Raymond Giovanello, great grandchild Cash Gallagher and a host of nieces, nephews, family and firends. Gaile is preceded in death in by her son Jeff Giovanello, father Donald Iovine, and mother Wealthy Ardito. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ALS [Lou Gehrig’s Disease] Association. The family of Gaile Iovine-Astorino wishes to thank New York Presybterian Hospital/Columbia Univeristy Medical Center’s Eleanor and Lou Gehrig MDA/ALS Center.
