Evangelina Mourato Tavares, 90, passed peacefully on November 29, 2020. Born in Fronteira, Portugal. Evangelina came to the United States in 1988 and has resided in Union, NJ since then. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Joao Silva Tavares. Evangelina is survived by her four children, Eduardo Mourato, Fernando Tavares, Maria Joao Mourato & Gina Tavares, daughters-in-law, Maria “Izzy” Mourato, Alessandra Tavares and son-in-law, Juca Ventura, seven grandchildren, Chris & Brian Mourato, Alyson & Rachel Tavares, Rute Gameiro, Sofia & Adelia Ventura, and her niece, Sao Mourato and nephew Rui Reis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 10 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 767 Prospect St. Maplewood, NJ. Entombment Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ. Visiting hours, Tuesday, December 1, 2020 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Bradley Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave. Union, NJ.
