Eugene J. DuBeau
02/27/1946 - 06/13/2020

Eugene J. DuBeau, 74, of Califon NJ passed away peacefully on the morning of June 13, 2020 surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.

Eugene grew up in Elizabeth, NJ where he attended St. Genevieve’s Grammar School.  He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and went on to complete a three year apprenticeship with the Sheet Metal Trade School eventually joining his father and brother as a member of the Sheet Metal Local #22 and later, Sheet Metal Local #25.  Eugene was a career foreman for KF Mechanical of Fairlawn, NJ until his retirement in 2006.

Eugene met his wife Frances Patricia, better known as Nancy, in the 6th grade where they established a connection that lasted his lifetime.  They married in May of 1970 and recently celebrated their 50 year wedding anniversary.  Eugene and Nancy settled in Califon, NJ where they designed and built their hilltop home.  They would go on to raise their daughter, Lauren, in their new community and create lasting friendships.  Eugene was a critical member of the St John Neumann Church building committee and lent his expertise to the construction of the new church facility.  He could always be counted on to help neighbors, friends and family with anything they needed.  He enjoyed boating, crabbing, horse races, tracking the stock market and being grandpa.

Eugene was passionately committed to his family.  He was a doting husband, father, grandfather and uncle.  He was also a dedicated son, brother and friend.  He will be remembered for his kind, thoughtful and generous spirit and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Eugene is predeceased by his parents, Eugene P. and Catherine DuBeau, twin brothers Frank and Gerard, and sister Kathleen Nickel.  He is survived by his wife Nancy, daughter Lauren, grandchildren Zarian and Amora, sister Eileen Sowa of New York and many nieces and nephews.
