Emma G. Lampariello formerly of Orange, Maplewood, and Springfield, NJ passed away peacefully this week.
She was a fiercely loyal teacher in Newark, NJ and would never give up until every child could read. Emma organized many bowling leagues and was very involved in the historical society in Maplewood. At the age of 60, she taught herself how to sail in a wet boat and spent summers at the Jersey Shore. She served many years on the Springfield Township Library Board, participated in the Mrs. New Jersey Pageant at the age of 69 and was very active in the origami society in New York City until she was 80.
She is survived by her beloved son, Mark A. Lampariello and wife Lynn, two sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave., Union, NJ followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. James the Apostle Church, 45 S. Springfield Ave., Springfield, NJ. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Emma’s name to a charity of choice.
