Ellen Shelly Wylie of Bridgewater died at Bridgeway Care Center on August 20, 2012. She was 90. Born and raised in Hudson, NY, she lived in Chatham for over 20 years, then Denville for 24 years before moving to Bridgewater in 2004.
Ellen was predeceased by her husbands Allen Shelly and Bob Wylie, son David Wylie, brother Alfred Wood and sisters Marsha Maqulan and Alydth Curtis. She is survived by her children: Peter Shelly and his wife Caroline of Pittstown. Barbara Wylie of Springfield, Richard Wylie of High Bridge, daughter in law Betsy Wylie of Newton, grandchildren: Ellen Shelly, Isabel Wylie, Dylan Wylie, Zachary Wylie, Ian Wylie and her sister Ruth “Pinky” Leggieri.
Ellen received an Associate of Arts Degree in Childhood education in 1942 at Cobleskill College in Cobleskill, NY. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She always had a positive outlook and a great sense of humor. She loved gardening and loved to bicycle throughout the New England area.
