Elizabeth R. Clark, 95, of Morris Township, died on January 22, 2018. Born in Union Hill, New Jersey, she had been a resident of Whippany for 20 years before moving to Morris Twp. in 1995.
She retired as Vice President of the Bowery Savings Bank in New York City in 1979. She attended the American Institute of Banking, graduated with honors from the Graduate School of Savings Banking at Brown University, and graduated from the Management Development Program at Amherst College.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Morristown since 1976, where over a period of time she served as Elder, Deacon, Church School Teacher and SCEEP Tutor. She was also a member of Circle 12 of Presbyterian Women and volunteered at the Presbyterian Women’s clothing bank for the needy for 17 years. She was also Past President of Savings Bank Women of New York City, was a member of the Board of Trustees of the 23rd Street YMCA in New York City and Volunteers of America, New York City. She was also past Treasurer of the Morris County Chaplaincy Council. She received the Anne Lindberg Morrow Business Woman of the Year Award, and was inducted into Memorial High School’s Alumni Hall of Fame.
Elizabeth was pre deceased by her parents, Alice and Peter J. Clark and her sister Margaret E. Hahn. She is survived by two nephews, Theodore F. Hahn and Peter Clark Hahn, Jr.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1pm at the Presbyterian Church in Morristown, 57 East Park Place in Morristown. Interment will be private.
