~~Elizabeth “Libby” FitzSimmons, 94, of Springfield passed away at her home on October 22nd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James the Apostle Church, 45 S. Springfield Ave, Springfield on Monday, October 27th at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave, Springfield on Sunday from 3 to 7pm. Born and raised in Vandergrift, PA, Libby moved to Springfield in 1954. She was an active member of St. James serving as a Eucharistic Minister and chairperson of the Purification Committee. Libby was also a member and past president of the Rosary Altar Society and a founding member of the Francis X. Coyle Council Columbiettes. She will be fondly remembered for her love and devotion to her family and faith and how she was an amazing seamstress, cook and avid gardener.

Libby was the beloved wife of 68 years to the late Joseph. She was the loving mother of Diane FitzSimmons, Joseph FitzSimmons and wife Carol, John FitzSimmons and wife Barbara, and Mary Havell and husband Douglas. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Deborah MacEvoy, John MacEvoy and wife Tricia, Carolyn MacEvoy, Vanessa Peffall and husband Christopher, Douglas Havell, Jr. and wife Suzanne, John Havell and wife Brandie, and Joseph Havell and wife Kimberly, great grandchildren; Devon, Lucas, Jack, Finn, Molly, Isabella, Fitz, Madison, Grant, Ellie and Van and dear sisters; Alberta Smith and Sylvia Previni and her husband Ray.
