Elizabeth B Gincley

Elizabeth B. Gincley, 81 of Summit, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Overlook Hospital.

Elizabeth was born on October 5, 1935 in Newark, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm and Hildegard (nee Rehmann) Zeh.

Elizabeth received a degree from the Newark School of Nursing, and received a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She also obtained a Master’s degree at Columbia University as well as a PhD from Rutgers University in the same subject.

Elizabeth was a professor at Rutgers University for several years. She also became the owner and accountant of her own business that she ran with her husband. Later in life she volunteered at Overlook Hospital. Elizabeth was an avid gardener and loved spending time outdoors. She liked to travel and write, and even wrote a period romance novel, “The Heir.” Elizabeth was a great animal lover, and she donated to St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center in Madison, NJ.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband Coyden Alan Gincley. She was the loving mother of Edmond Berman (Heidi), Oliver Berman (Rhonda), Andrew Berman (Eileen) and Jessica Durgin (Jason). In addition, she was the loving Oma of Alexander, Emma, Marie, Christian, Collin, Maeve, Grant, Brady and Chase. She is also survived by a brother, William Zeh.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Bradley, Brough & Dangler Funeral Home, 299 Morris Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901. A Celebration of Life will be held 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, NJ. In her memory, donations can be directed to St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, P.O. Box 159, 575 Woodland Ave., Madison NJ 07940.
