Eleanor J. Diamond (nee Lepore) of Warren, NJ passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the age of 88.
She was born August 26, 1927 to Anthony M. and Rose Petrillo Lepore, the oldest of three children.
Eleanor grew up in Maplewood, NJ where she graduated from Columbia High School. Over her career, she worked as a waitress, secretary, statistician, clerical supervisor, office manager, and part-time bookkeeper, finally retiring in 1998 at 70 years of age.
Eleanor loved to bake, cook, sew and knit, and was proficient in all of them. Christmas cookies were her specialty.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Francis Diamond and her sister, Janet Goodreds. She is survived by her son Gregory Diamond and his wife Joanne of Warren, NJ, her brother Donald Lepore of Landenberg, PA, her granddaughter, Keva Stewart and her husband Brian of Lawrenceville, NJ, her great-granddaughter, Lily and her nephew Steven Goodreds and wife Diane of Parsippany, NJ.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 10:45am at St Teresa of Avila Church, 306 Morris Ave., Summit. Interment will follow at St Teresa Cemetery, Summit. Visitation will be Monday, May 23, 2016 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928.
