Eleanor Jagacinski died on April 26 at Friendship Village in Dublin, Ohio. She was born in 1915 in Queens, New York. She had one brother, Raymond. When she was 5 years old, her family moved out to the countryside in the Bronx. After graduating from James Monroe High School, she worked at Consolidated Edison in Manhattan. While there she was often a badminton and tennis champ in company competitions. In 1943 she married Theodore Jagacinski and moved to Orange, New Jersey. They had two children, Richard and Carolyn. In 1951, the family moved to Whippany. Eleanor was a member of the Hanover Senior Bowling Team for many years, and she loved to garden. She and Ted celebrated their 60th anniversary at the Westin Hotel in Morristown with family and friends in 2003. They had two grandsons, Patrick and Kenneth Schweickert. In 2006 Ted died, and Eleanor subsequently lived at Care One at Morris before moving to Ohio. Viewing at the Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Road, will be on Sunday May 5th from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. The funeral will be at the nearby Our Lady of Mercy Chapel also on Whippany Road on Monday May 6th at 10 a.m. followed by the burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Legion Place.
