Eileen Catherine Pedersen, 81, of Springfield, NJ, passed away on July 8, 2020.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. James the Apostle Church, 41 S. Springfield Ave on Monday, July 13th at 10am.  Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union.  Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave., in Springfield, on Sunday from 4 to 8pm.

Born and raised in Irvington, the daughter of James and Florence (Dolan) McGough, Eileen graduated from Arch Bishop Walsh High School.  She had moved to Springfield in 1965.  After raising her family, Eileen worked as a crossing guard at the James Caldwell School in Springfield.  She was a longtime parishioner at St. James and was a member of the Springfield Volunteer First Aid Squad.  Eileen loved spending time with her family.

Eileen was the beloved wife of the late Vernon Pedersen.  She was the loving mother of James Pedersen and his wife Diana and Laurie Hogan and her husband Francis.  She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Joe Hogan, Liam Hogan, Sean Hogan, Lucy Hogan, Connor Pedersen and McKayla Pedersen, her dear sister Cathy Lawthers, her husband Stan and their children, Michael Reddington and Patrick Reddington as well as many loving relatives.  She is predeceased by her twin sister, Jeanine McGough.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Eileen’s memory may be made to NJ Alzheimer’s Association, 425 Eagle Rock Avenue, Suite 203, Roseland, NJ  07068
