~~Edward L. Hayes, 86, of Florham Park, NJ, passed peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on April 26, 2015. A Funeral Service will be held at Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St in Chatham on Thursday, April 30th at 10a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City. Born and raised in Jersey City where he graduated from St. Michael’s High School (and was voted “best dressed”), Edward lived in East Brunswick for 33 years before moving to Florham Park in 2005. He worked in the transportation department at Rutgers University for 25 years until his retirement in 1996. He loved playing pool and cards, gardening and Irish music. Known for his holiday pies and his mean beef stew, Edward will be fondly remembered as a hardworking, devoted and loving family man.
Edward was the beloved husband of the late Diane. He was the loving father of Susan Hayes, Edward and his wife Laura, Laura Knueppel, Timothy, Kristine Pawson and her husband David and Cynthia Grenier and her husband Vincent. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Amanda, Eric and Bryan Hayes, Jared and Wesley Pawson, and Sonja & Athena Grenier.
