~~Edith “Edie” A. Leddy (nee Decker), 73 of Union, NJ, passed peacefully on May 7, 2016. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Edie has lived in Union for many years. Edie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Thomas W. Leddy, loving mother of Scott Leddy and Jacqueline Leddy, cherished grandmother of Gillian Leddy-Plath and Jonathan Leddy-Plath. Edie leaves behind 10 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and great nephews. She will be greatly missed by all.
Edie was a member and volunteered for Deborah Hospital Park Union Guild Chapter, Union, NJ, a member of the Columbiettes of Union, a parishioner, CCD teacher, and one of the choir members for the Living Stations and Festival of Lights at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Union, NJ, volunteered at the Burnett Middle School by helping the Teachers with their photocopying, and was a choir member and volunteered for the Mother’s Guild at Saint Leo’s Church in Irvington, NJ. She has helped the Boys and Girls Club of Union in their Bingo Hall and their dance program, and has worked and called Bingo for a few organizations. Edie was an accomplished seamstress, had a passion for arts and crafts, making chocolate for all sorts of holidays, and loved being a wonderful grandmother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 10:15 am at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Union. Interment Hollywood Memorial Park. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 10, from 2 to 6 pm at the Bradley Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave. Union.
