Doug Shank

~~Douglas Shank, formerly of Summit, passed away in New York City on July 18. Doug was a graduate of Delbarton School in Morristown and Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Following graduation, Doug lived and worked in the New York City area. Most recently, he lived in Jackson Heights, in the borough of Queens, and was employed by HBO as a Senior Business Analyst. Doug had a variety of interests, many of which revolved around music. He was a loving and devoted father to his daughter, Daphne, and will be remembered for his quick wit, his devotion to his daughter, and the ease with which he befriended and interacted with persons with whom he came in contact.

Doug is survived by his parents, his daughter Daphne and her mother Maria, his sister Claudia Hueston and her husband Kerry, and their two young children.

Donations may be made in Doug’s memory either to 82nd Street Academics in Jackson Heights, New York, which his daughter has attended and whose mission it is to provide programs that complement public education so that students of all backgrounds will have access to quality higher education or to Berklee City Music Network, which enables youths from underserved communities to develop musically, academically, socially, and emotionally primarily through the study of contemporary music.
