Dorothy A. De Gaetano

Dorothy A. De Gaetano, 84, of Springfield, passed away peacefully Tuesday.

Mrs. De Gaetano was born in New York in 1935 to Edward and Gladys Steinbach. She is pre-deceased by her husband Vincent De Gaetano. The two moved to Springfield in 1967.

Mrs. De Gaetano worked for New York Life for more than three decades.

She and her husband were avid travelers who crossed the globe in their pursuit to see as much of the world together as they could. They visited Greece, Italy, Peru, Brazil, among other countries and cruised to ports including Bermuda and Alaska.

The couple were members of the Springfield Garden Club, Friends of the Springfield Library, parishioners of St. James RC Church and members of the Saint James Seniors.

Mrs. De Gaetano is survived by cousins Karen Zwally and Robert Schwint.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Bradley, Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. A Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. James the Apostle Church, 45 South Springfield Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. An interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society.
