Donato A. Petrucelli, 85, of Ellenton, Florida and formerly of Whippany, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12th, 2016. Born in Newark, NJ on July 7, 1930, Donato was the son of Saverio Petrucelli and Colomba Colavita. Donato had 3 other siblings; Dominick, Michael and Guido. In 1952, Donato married Rose D’Agostino and together they had 5 children; Toni Nigro of Leonardo, NJ, Donna Makrinos of Stamford, CT, Linda Fasanelli of Sarasota, FL, Richard Petrucelli of Hagerstown, MD and Ronald Petrucelli of Dover, NJ. He was the proud grandfather of 11 beautiful and successful grandchildren who love and miss him dearly. Donato proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a cook. He loved to cook and was known for his pizza. Before retirement, Donato worked in New Jersey as a home builder and in building management. In lieu of flowers, donations are greatly appreciated and will be sent on Donato’s behalf to: The American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robinsville, NJ 08691. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 4pm-8pm at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home, 49 Whippany Road, Whippany, NJ 07981. A committal service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:30am in the Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. Donato will be in the hearts of his children and grandchildren and will be missed.
