Donald DePalma- “Boots”, Former Millburn Resident

Donald “Boots” DePalma, 85, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2013. Born in Orange, NJ, raised in Millburn, he has lived in Brick for the last 16 years. Donald served proudly in the Merchant Marines. He worked for the Department of Public Works for Millburn Township for 26 years, retirine in 1990. He loved horses, Atlantic City and bowling. Donald is pre-deceased by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Joan DePalma (nee Wittkop). He is survived by his children, donald R. and his wife Carmen, diane Bengle and her husband Tom, Doreen Bace, Daniel and his wife Kathy, seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and his sister Concetta Cashman. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 10 am at the Bradley Smith & Smith Funeral Home, 415 Morris Ave, Springfield. Interment St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Short Hills. Visiting hours will be Sunday 2 to 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donald’s name may be made to St. Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
