Derek Randall Mason, of Chatham Twp., passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. He was 33.
Born in Rahway, Derek graduated from Chatham High School and he attended Morris County Community College. He also had a certificate in Medical Coding & Billing from the Anthem Institute.
Ever since he was a young child, Derek loved WWE wrestling. He was an avid fan of the NY Jets and the NJ Devils and enjoyed music and movies. He also loved grocery shopping and finding a good bargain.
Derek was such a good guy with a good heart. He was kind to everyone he met and always had a smile on his face. He had a great sense of humor despite the number of medical issues he had and never complained about them.
He had worked as a retail clerk with Staples, Walgreen’s and Target and was most recently on the video production team with Veritext Legal Solutions in Livingston.
Derek volunteered for many years at the Interfaith Food Pantry in Morris Plains.
Derek is the beloved son of Judy Mason of Chatham Twp. and Frank Tricarico and his fiancee’, Rita Santora of Whitehouse Station. He is the cherished brother of Emily LaBombard of Portland, OR. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Christina and Don Sweeney, Geraldine and Paul Foley, Janet and Larry Budgar, Peter Mason and Cornell Barnard, and Ann and Patrick Doyle, their families and Derek’s many friends.
