David C. Hitchen, 90, of Chatham, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Morristown Medical Center.
David was born on May 9, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil and Helen (nee Dunham) Hitchen.
David was a graduate of Chatham High School and attended Drew University. He served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Seaman First Class. He was a member of the Rotary Club in Chatham for many years. David loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed cars, especially his corvette and jaguar, golfing, bowling, traveling and his beloved dogs.
He was predeceased by his cherished wife of 60 years, Shirley Gunberg Hitchen. He is survived by his daughter, Tracey H. Stagaard and her husband Donald of Basking Ridge, and his son, Jonathan D. Hitchen and his wife Sharon of New Providence. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jamison Stagaard, Kendall Klas and husband Raymond, and Emily and Daniel Hitchen.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Chatham, NJ 07928.
